After arriving we went to the tourist information centre to find out what was around the town. We had one of Canarvon's famous frozen chocolate coated bananas, it was yummy. The lady there told us that the Xmas market was on that night so we decided to go down for a look. There were lots of stalls, homemade goods etc and of course lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, we bought a whole watermelon for $2 and it was so nice and it lasted us for the next week.
It was really interesting driving along the roads, the highway included as the trees had all grown on an angle, obviously lots of wind here.
The next day was quite hot so we headed to the blowholes which was a long drive but well worth it. The coastline was an amazing sight and the power of the waves was incredible. Jim tried some fishing down another road but yet again nothing.
In the town there was a long jetty it was called 1 mile jetty, there was a little train that travelled up and down the jetty so people didn't have to walk if they didn't want to. It was run by volunteers so if they didin't turn up there was no train. Each time you wanted to go on the jetty it cost you $4 this money went towards the upkeep of the jetty because they have had a lot of trouble with vandals lighting fires etc over the years.
On our last day at Canarvon we drove around some of the local market gardens in the area and bought some lovely vegetables. I bought some paprika which I had never heard of or seen before, the only paprika that I have ever seen is in a packet at the supermarket. They are like a small long red capsicum but quite sweet, they were lovely.
