Sorry for the delay but it's the website, not me. Maybe we're not just that compatible after this journey through Portugal...maybe is should have chosen Wordpress rather than them off exploring website but one last chance together.. So farewell to Portugal and across the river Rio Minho to Spain . So close but very different. I hope Portugal doesn't become one of the loser nations of Europe because there is so much here to see and enjoy but somehow they seem to have lost the spirit that made tham conquerors of the world. But maybe that's happened to us Brits too. They do like the English and have been v friendly and polite. So memories of custard tarts, vinho Verdi, fado singing and some of the loveliest rivers I've ever seen. Lots more pilgrims join tomorrow from Spain, but if they've seen the weather they may decide to puts it off for a while. It rained all of today and much the same expected for the next week. There is nothing to stop all the Altantic weather just landing on top of us here. Anyway, my boots are drying out in the fabulous heated bedroom of our pousada...which is the Portuguese equivalent of a Parador and we've just had a good meal. But the even better news is that Roger is doing the blog tomorrow night. I'll be washing socks.
