Yes, the boings did go on all last night. The last one I heard was one o clock but Roger said it was woken by four bongs later. But all forgotten by what has been one of the loveliest days walking. The pic shows roger looking at the mountains ahead, but I do think we are going through a valley rather than over the top. We think we are talking less to other pilgrims because they are now....and maybe us too...are more on their internal journey. There is less point to conversations about how you are coping or how far you are heading. Over the next few days we are expecting abig influx of people who are doing the last week into Santiago and we have been warned it will get busier. But anyway...still the big hills and descents to come. We went to hear some Benedictine monks doing a Gregorian service tonight before dinner in a church of such simplicity. Rather spoiled by the Andean pan pipes when we came back playing versions of Lady in Red and Angels.....no not our disco tracks. I'm handing over to Roger to do his additional blog ......notice that washing powder is not on his list of Camino essentials. He seems to think that his 1000 miles socks do just that without even one wash. However I still love him v much.

Heather So good to read this mixture of humour and culture amongst the more spiritual thoughts. Smelly socks, bad toes and sore feet lend grounding and realistic grit to those of us living virtually with half yearning....tonight's dinner in Aston Cantlow with a post prandial round Snitterfield cemetery seems very tame ....xxx
