Not into all this religious stuff but thought I had better check out the Cathedral as that is the main focal point for the pilgrimage. Went early in the morning after breakfast as it is a bank holiday in Santiago today and I figured there would be a lot of people around later. Entered through the pilgrims entrance and although I am not an officionado for cathedrals this one is good without being outstanding, visually. I had a good look round and took some pictures where I was allowed. I asked when the swinging botufumeiro would be operating but they are very secretive about releasing this and they don't release the times ahead of the mass. They announced mass was to commence in a few minutes without it and I thought that I would leave at this stage as I didn't want to be stuck in there through this procedure. i had a walk around the town and explored some of the old town, before lunch at a nice little spot. After lunch another walk and a couple of vino tintos at an outside bar in a square.
