Camino 3
They say this is the hardest day. Well if it is, thank f*#k. Not a good day for pics. Didn't start off well When I forgot to leave the key for the room and had to go back with it. Thankfully only a couple of hundred metres! Poured down, blowing a gale and freezing at the top of the Pyrenees. An "oasis" at the top was a caravan selling hot chocolate. Wasn't he popular. Best hot chocolate ever. Walking with a young Italian man for a little while. He asked how old I was and I told him I am old man of 60. No, he said, you are a very strong man! He has become my new best friend! It took 5 hours to climb up and 1 hour to drop down into Roncesvalles. Mud everywhere. I slipped and if I haven't broken my finger it sure feels like it. Checked into this beautiful hotel. A suite of rooms, 4 beds, 2 floors.......and I thought I was roughing it! So, showered and time for a beer to put back in all that liquid that leaked out earlier.
