Camino 3
A warm day and not too much on the road, until Logrono! A few more hills but relatively calm. Chain came off just outside Los Arcos but put it back on with no problems. Stopped for my now obligatory coffee and cake at Los Arcos. Some more beautiful little towns and views. On arrival on the outskirts of Logrono I wasn't sure which way to go and a friendly local suggested I take the Camino trail in as I might die on the main road! That seemed a fairly convincing argument so I walked the bike in for the last couple of km. Checked in and another beautiful hotel. Had a beer to replace the liquid in my body and then had a couple of local wines. Given that I am now in the Rioja region I thought I had better support the local industry. Had a couple of tapas - seems like we have moved from Pinchos to Tapas in this region - including "black pudding" on toast. yay! A good mix with my next one which was octopus. Yum! So I have now discovered that there is a festival on in Logrono this weekend. Bands playing in the streets and people everywhere. It could get very messy if I wasn't on a mission. Apparently it kicks off even bigger tomorrow from midday onwards. I will be well on my way by then and hopefully the roads will be quiet as they are all recovering!

Pat Newlove Well done so far! Hope this is not the lull before the storm! Have a piece of cake for me.
Chris Hadley As you so instructed I had a pastry with a coffee this evening. The festival is going off!
John Edwards Glad to see you're sticking to the tried and trusted method favoured by honed athletes for replacing lost fluids. Beer and rioja .. never fails! Seems to be going to plan so far. Hope it stays that way. United at Southampton tomorrow with chance to close gap on city after West Ham won at The Etihad today. Wouldn't put money on it, mind you. Bit up and down, to say the least. Happy pedalling!
Ella Oooooh glad the bike chain went back on lol that could have been pretty bad! LOL hmmm yes that was a pretty convincing argument I think. Probably best not to die! Hahaha this reminds me of in The Way when he has the Tapas argument!
Chris Hadley Tapas and pichos are better Han the crap we are served up in Melbourne as they should be. But a lot cheaper
Pat Newlove Well you might get crap Tapas in Melbourne but at least you CAN get them. Ask for them here and goodness knows what you would be served! Mind you, we do serve a serve a mean tattie pot.

Chris Hadley Thank you very much. I knew I could rely on you!
