Camino 3
A challenging walk was forecasted, and so it was. It followed the N 240 all the way from Bedun to Yesa. ******* the feet, not much shade and quite warm. We were to pass a lake but because of the lack of rain it was dry for much of the way. As we got towards Yesa it began to have water and it was strange to see locals bathing in the lake which was damned further down stream. They were bathing around old buildings which surface from the lake in draw weather. Finally arrived in Yesa after 34 km and knew that we still had a further 5km to go the monastery where we were staying. We decided to get a taxi up the hill and then walk back down in the morning. However, the taxi driver in the village was on holiday and there was no other way of getting to the monastery. Ulla decide that she couldn't walk any further and got a bed at t a local hostel but I decided to walk on. I had walked about 1km when a car came up behind me sounding its horn. It was Ulla and a man from the hostel who had offered to take her up to the monastery and pick me up on the way. He was delighted to do this and would take no money from us. A bloody hero!
