Camino 3
Had to break out of my hotel at 7.30 as there was no other sign of life. The lady had left some fruit, bread and meats for me so I grabbed the fruit and headed off. Kept up a good pace as although it was dry there was always the threat of rain. A couple of hills but nothing major and no problems. I thought I still had another 2km to go but then I saw a sign for the hotel so I arrived early, before lunch. By the time I'd had a shower and clean clothes on it was raining so I felt quite vindicated. The hotel is primarily a restaurant so I had a beautiful lunch of Galician broth, plaice fillets followed by, yes, rice pudding, washed down with some local red wine, and of course fresh crusty bread. By this time it was time for a siesta. Dinner was a tranquil affair with a couple of pieces of Galician Pie followed by a plate of octopus, with bread of course. A small beer and water and that was it. A big final day tomorrow. More rain is forecast for tomorrow but at least I will be starting off in dry clothes and dry boots. Brekkie at 7.30 so on the road by 8 and hopefully in to Santiago by lunchtime.

John Edwards Last lap, matey. The finishing line beckons, as does Paris. Trust it goes well.
