Camino 3
Late brekkie then a tour of the hotel/monastery/museum in which I am staying. Quite stunning. After yesterdays perceived excesses at lunch, a more subdued affair was called for today. Salad and a few wines in one of the seemingly hundreds of squares was most enjoyable. Even more people in the city in the afternoon and evening so an early night to get some sleep before the final bike ride tomorrow.

Pat Newlove Well, you have certainly been to beautiful spots and stayed at stunning hotels! The one trip I have always wanted to undertake was a tour of the real Spain and you seem to be doing it. The food (and drink) seem to be an essential part of the trip so it is as well it is good - certainly looks most attractive. Did I miss something with the new room key? I understand this led to the lost-underpants mystery but VERY relieved that you found some replacements! Have you got some cream for your arse? Well done, keep going and we will speak soon.
Chris Hadley Yes, it. Interesting moving around seeing how each region has different foods. I feel very fortunate being able to experience this trip, and I am thoroughly enjoying it. The lost key and the lost underpants had no connection other than happening at the same hotel in Burgos. They printed off a new key for me and I finally a couple of pairs of underpants after going to a few stores and showing them my underpants (which I was still wearing) and asking where I could buy some. Final day of bike riding tomorrow so I am hoping that my backside copes with one last day - after today's rest day it should be ok. Then it's 7 more days walking without a break until Sarria which is regarded as being the last big push - only 100 km from there, and the minimum allowed to obtain a compostela, so apparently a lot of people start from there. Anyway, better get some sleep before 56km tomorrow. Love, Chris Xxx
