Camino 3
A fairly straightforward ride to Leon. Parallel to the Camino track for much of the time and then on main road. Leon is a big city and as I came down the hill I was confronted with a huge roundabout so I did the cowardly thing and walked around it. I've come this far without falling off or any accidents so I thought that was the best course. I rode into the city from there until it became clear that there was some sort of festival on ( of course) and there were heaps of people. I suddenly heard a shout of "Rob". It was my Canadian friends from last night who had go the train to Leon earlier today. As I say Leon is a big city so that was quite a coincidence. Found the hotel which is another beautiful building next to the basilica. It is still a museum and I will be going on a tour tomorrow, a rest day. I asked to get some laundry done but they don't offer that facility here! So I washed a few things in my shower and hope that will do the trick for a few days. I have 36 hours for them to dry. I had another huge lunch which I didn't actually think I had ordered but I won't want much for dinner. In actual fact I had 3 glasses of wine, a coffee and a lemon ice cream. That did me for the day. The place is full of people enjoying what I have found out is a medieval market. I just thought everybody dressed weird! Leon is the most expensive place I have come across as yet. Although the 3 glasses of wine and the coffee was only $12.
