Got up and it was raining again, not enjoying this weather in the slightest.. We decided to head up to Taupo to see if the weather was any better up there so after breakfast we got back on the road and headed up the highway for a couple of hours towards Taupo and it rained the whole time, we got to
Taupo in the rain and went straight to the I-site, they told us there wasn't much to do when the weather was bad and have us a map of local attractions, we went to visit Huka falls which were pretty awesome and then to the dam but we got the opening times wrong due to seasonal change which sucked a bit, we then hung about a view point until 5pm which is when we could head to the free campsite where we parked up and set up shop for the evening as the rain was still pouring so left us little to do. We played a few card games and then decided to get an early night as that was our only real option! The weather was meant to be a bit better the following day so decided to make the most of that instead!
