Today is Thursday which means it is cheap fuel in Bamaga. Every Thursday they knock 10c of the price of all fuel and I was surprised to see ************e there taking advantage of it. So today we took a boat out and we knew it wasn't the best weather but unfortunatley it was worse than we expected. It was quite windy and the chop was ok heading out to the islands but as we headed back across the bay it was an uncomfortable and long trip back to shore in some very choppy water. Next stop...Loyalty Beach. This involved crossing the Jardine River by ferry which was so small it could only take our 4wd and caravan. It could fit 4 small cars but up here everyone has a big vehicle and trailer. The QLD Parks must be making some good money from it because it cost us $129 to go less than 50m across the river. All they need is to join two of these small ferries together and it would make a bridge across. But I guess they need to make money someho...

Yesterday Matt drove and walked numerous times to fill up the jerry can from the creek only to find this morning 2 taps within 50m of our camp! It is raining constantly on and off which isn't the best when your camping on dirt. We went to The Saucepan and Eliot Falls this morning and both look nice but didn’t swim at because wasn’t suitable for little kids. Zach did spot a turtle and we got to see it up close.

I didn’t get much sleep last night because the wind made it feel like we had an earthquake for the entire night rocking the camper plus the wind was loud. So we packed up earlier then planned. Because it was so windy we decided not to look around but next visit we will walk to the next headland where reef sharks could be sighted and bat caves down the other end.
