Our 3rd day at the war memorial rest stop. Matt and Allyn drove into Cairns to get new tyres for the trailer and do some other things. Lyn and I stayed at camp with the boys. The most exciting thing to happen was after Lyn told Zach he could talk the foot off a horse he soon responded with you can "talk the bacon out of the pig!" He is a pretty witty 4yr old.

First stop today was Mt Hypipamee National Park. The Crater was very interesting. It became about after a huge gas explosion from volcanic activity and has created a hole that is 61m down to the water level and then curves under the lookout and continues down another 80m deeper. The nearby Dinner Falls was ok but not very accessible so it was hard to get a good view without climbing down the embankment. Driving from Mt Hypipamee to Milla Milla was a very beau...

Nothing exciting today...just some shopping for essentials and setting up camp. This camp is VERY POPULAR. It is donation only and in the same area as a war memorial. The area is the site of an army medical precinct that was used during WWII.
