We drove from Injune to Takarakka Bush Resort at Carnarvon Gorge.
Our first paid camping but it is the only option around to Carnarvon NP and it is a really nice camp ground.
We went on a short walk to the Rock Pools today.
It is a nice spot but didn't see any turtles or platypuses that are in the area. The water was a bit cool but we soon got used to it and the boys had a good time walking through the water and over all the rocks.
We met another travelling family (the Rutlands) so we have a good time chatting to them and Zach is playing with their kids. They are from Perth and are in their 40’s doing the trip. They decided to because Nigel has lost a couple of friends his age and knew another guy that planned on doing the trip when he retired and 3 days after he did retire he died. And another retiree waited and was unable to travel due to bad hip problems and other health issues. There are so many reasons people can have for not doing "The Big Trip" when they want to but there are too many reasons not to do everything you can to MAKE IT HAPPEN as soon as you can. It will be a different experience doing it then when we are retired, but all I can hope for is that one day we will have the opportunity to do it again because you will never see and experience everything in one trip anyway.
