Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We are leaving the cape at a good time with the heavy rains hitting today. With the rain, the road south of Bramwell Station was really good but north of Bramwell was horrible. The water washed the road away really quickly so there were lots of potholes but the worst section was when it got slippery. We ended up driving 30km for some of it and had some lost traction with both car and camper along the way. There are so many bends on the PDR and they seem so unnecessary. The drive would be so much quicker if it was a straight road!
After a big drive we had a repeat of Merluna Station where after an all day drive we arrived late
afternoon at our planned campsite only to find a "Road Closed" sign in front of it! We drove on the the next site only to find the same thing. With no more campsites for a while we camped at the entrance to the camps just on the side of the road. It was ok though because it was just a stop over and no other cars came by.
