Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
Today is Thursday which means it is cheap fuel in Bamaga. Every Thursday they knock 10c of the price of all fuel and I was surprised to see ************e there taking advantage of it. After filling up we drove onto Punsand Bay where we had a nice wood-fired pizza and a swim in the pool. It was an above ground pool so we got to show Zach his first whirlpool. The lady at the Croc Tent was very helpful and happy to share all her insights so it is a good place to stop by if you want to find out anything.
Punsand Bay seems to be the best camping option close to Pajinka (the tip). Somerset used to be free but it appears they have now started charging and for the price they are asking Punsand is much better value. There also used to be a camp at Pajinka but only remnants remain. There are no signs saying you can't camp there anymore but it definitely has an abandoned look to it. The only other option is to camp next at the next beach to Punsand Bay which is a little cheaper and you still can use their facilities but I think it's worth that little bit extra to camp close to all amenities.
