Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
It was an hour long drive from PDR turnoff down to Captain Billy’s on firm easy track with a few corrugations. We were the only ones here until a couple of hours later another couple came to camp. They gave us some fish they caught from Seisia which was yummy.
It is a really beautiful spot. A bit windy today but it does bring a welcome coolness and the area is expected to get really strong winds in a few days time. We had a nice day at the beach playing.
This place is named after an aboriginal elder that referred to himself as “Captain Billy” whom met a government explorer and showed him the location. After the explorer refused to trade goods the group were later stalked by the aboriginal tribe and resulted in a brutal and deathly battle between the groups.
