Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We headed back south this morning stopping at a WWII and civilian plane wreck.
We camped at Canal Creek which is my favourite spot to camp on the Old Telegraph Track. After setting up camp we took a drive north this time up the OTT.
This is Zach explaining to me the life stages of a wattle.
Overall the OTT is really easy with the only difficult parts coming from the creek crossings. Off-road camper trailers wouldn't have trouble getting through. We are here early in the season and they haven't had a very big 'wet season' however the deepest creek we crossed came to the bonnet. Most creek crossings are easy wit h planning. The river beds are generally firm, the trouble comes from the holes throughout the crossings. Most creek crossings have been crystal clear so it has been easy to see what route to take but when other vehicles have been through recently some stay murky for ages and you can’t see a thing. From talking to other travellers, the hardest and deepest crossings are the two at the start and two at the end of the OTT which are the only ones we didn’t do.
