Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
Next stop...Loyalty Beach. This involved crossing the Jardine River by ferry which was so small it could only take our 4wd and caravan. It could fit 4 small cars but up here everyone has a big vehicle and trailer. The QLD Parks must be making some good money from it because it cost us $129 to go less than 50m across the river. All they need is to join two of these small ferries together and it would make a bridge across. But I guess they need to make money somehow to pay for the rangers and services.
We stopped by Seisia Holiday Park and they had some really good beachfront sites with huge huts but we wanted a powered site this time so we chose to stay at Loyalty Beach. Loyalty Beach is named after the Loyalty Islands, Vanuatu in which the first residents had links to. It is a nice region but the only thing to do is fish, hop on a boat or relax by the campsite which the latter is hard to do with 2 boys.
We got to see 2 owls in a tree next to our camp right on late dusk which Liam was particularly interested in.
