Woke up to sunshine and to find all the kids dressed and wanting to go and find their friends to play! We had to drag them back for breakfast and schoolwork but it was a complete waste of time after such a late night. Even Annie struggled to concentrate! They all had specific tasks to complete and it took all morning to achieve the bare minimum!! After lunch we decided to completely exhaust them and then give them an early night, so we headed into Lakes Entrance for a walk. We parked along the main street and walked across the bridge to 90 mile beach. The surf was strong and the waves were dumping on sand banks but a few people were in the ocean having a swim. We walked along the beach to the entrance of the Gippsland Lakes. It was quite hard going but well worth it and as we reached the entrance we spotted a pod of dolphins heading back out to sea. We then followed the walking track that runs through the middle of the spit until we eventually reached the café back at the bridge - all up a 5km circuit walk. We had an ice-cream and then headed home. The other kids at the park were heading off to the netball courts as we got back so ours went too and ran around until dinner. After that they had a shower and were in bed by 7pm. I thought there would be lots of protests but instead they were all snoring within 5 minutes!! Katharine sat up and watched some tv with us for a while but she was in bed by 9pm too. I worked until midnight but at least I got it all finished and wont need to think about it tomorrow!!
