Happy Birthday to me!! I was the first one awake but the kids soon stirred and swamped me with some beautiful home made cards and treasures they had found on the beach. After breakfast we packed up and were on the road by 9 am. It took us about an hour and a half to reach Walkamin (travelling on the Mulligan Highway!!) and find the caravan park, which was fantastic. We were given a huge site with lots of space behind us for the kids to play footie - much less claustrophobic then Wonga Beach. The park owner's dog, Billie, came over to say 'hello' as did our neighbour's dog, Jessie and the kids were entertained throwing them balls while Nick and I set up camp. Once we'd had lunch we drove out to Emerald Creek Falls. Unfortunately some planned burns were going on in bush lands nearby and Katharine stressed the entire time it took to walk to the lookout for the falls. By the time we took the track back to the car the smoke was much more noticeable. Nick and I got talking to a couple from QLD in the car park and Katharine was nearly hyperventilating by the time we got back in the car!! We managed to pacify her with a trip to the Emerald Creek Ice-Creamery where I had the best ice cream I've ever had - passion fruit and Lime flavour!!! We headed home and the kids got straight back in to playing with the dogs again. There were multiple burns going on in the mountains behind us and the smoke was blowing towards the caravan park making it difficult to sit outside - luckily we were going out for dinner to a pub in Tolga which had been recommended. The meal was fantastic and the kids had a great time. By the time we got home they went straight to bed and fell fast asleep so Nick and I watched the last episode of Sherlock, series 3 - awesome!!
