We had a fairly restless night's sleep due to geese on the oval making a shocking racket at intervals throughout the night. A couple of roosters joined the party around 430am and once we were woken it took a while to get back to sleep as it was absolutely freezing. In the end I gave up and put on a second pair of socks, a beanie and a dressing gown and slept through until 9am!! We decided to spend another day in Morven as it will probably be the nicest stop we have for the next week. We had a slow breakfast and then threatened the kids with school so they shot off to the park while Nick and I did the washing up. We sat in the sun and watched them and thought we would begin school once they'd had enough. As it was we didn't see them again until lunchtime and then some local kids came to use the park so they played with them and we didn't have the heart to pull them away. This meant Nick and I sat and talked from about 10am to 3pm - the longest uninterrupted chat for eleven years!! We went for a walk around the town, got an ice cream from the local store and had a long chat to the owners. We had an early dinner and everyone was ready for bed by 630pm but wearing extra layers. The kids spent the evening playing on the boys bed while Nick and I relaxed in front of the TV.
