Woke up with the birds again and read in bed for a while before everyone started wanting breakfast. The kids ran off to play with the girls next door and Nick and I did some cleaning up and then we set off for the train station. We got the train to Circular Quay and then caught a ferry to Watsons Bay. It wasn't very busy and the wind was blowing a bit today so we had the whole of the outside sitting area on the ferry to ourselves. At Watsons Bay we walked up to the Gap, a great look out point over the Pacific, and took the walking track around the headland to views of the harbour entrance. The walk continued past lots of old heritage houses and finished up back at the wharf. We'd worked up an appetite so stopped for lunch at Doyles and got fish and chips to eat in the park. Unfortunately it was really disappointing and only the chips were good! We played in the park for a while and then got the ferry back to Circular Quay. We explored the Botanical Gardens but we didn't stay too long as it seemed full of very strange people and then got the train home. Dinner was toast and cereal and everyone needed a really good scrub in the shower, as the kids seemed to be covered in dirt and grime from head to toe. We did a couple of loads of washing and made the smaller kids have an early night. Poor Katharine climbed into bed and then began to feel unwell and eventually vomited before finally getting to sleep around midnight. Sydney has been fantastic but its time to get out of the big smoke and breathe some fresh air. It's also time for some space!
