I woke up feeling much better this morning and no one else had succumbed to gastro overnight so hopefully we are all clear of it now. We had rain over night and showers were forecast throughout the day so after breakfast we drove into Yamba to have a walk along the beach. As we got there we could see the rain coming in over the ocean and we didn't even get the chance to walk down to the beach before it struck. We bought some fresh bread and came home for a platter lunch before heading out again in the car. We drove to Maclean, a town on the Clarence River with Scottish history where all the power poles are painted with Scottish clan tartans. I tried to find the Mackay tartan but had no luck!! From there we drove to Iluka, a town on the opposite bank of the river to Yamba, but much smaller. We walked along the foreshore and found a park for the kids to play in for a while and then headed home. It was nearly dark by the time we got back so the kids shot off to the jumping pillow before it closed for the night while Nick made dinner. We spent the evening all snuggled up in our bed watching a bit of TV before bed - its beginning to get really cold at night now!
