No one seemed to sleep very well last night. Both Matty and Anna woke in the night with a nightmare and even I had one. Knowing we needed to be awake by 7 am meant I woke up at every hour to check the time and when 7 am finally came round it was very difficult to get out of bed!! The kids all woke up very excited too and rushed through breakfast to hop in the car, as we were heading out to Moore Creek to pick up a new puppy! Moore Creek is north of Tamworth and it took us nearly an hour and a half to get there. When we arrived we had a choice of two girls to pick from and they were so identical that it was hard to choose. In the end the breeder put them both down on the grass and we picked the puppy that came straight towards us - welcome Tally to the Mulligan clan!! She's a very pretty black Labrador and is 8 weeks old tomorrow. She sat on my knee on the way into Tamworth and seemed a bit stressed riding in the car. We took her straight to a pet shop to be fitted with a collar and harness and then drove her back to Walcha where she abandoned me and went to sit with Katharine and Anna. She fell asleep within minutes and snored all the way home!! We spent the afternoon following Tally around everywhere trying to get her to chew her new toys rather than our shoes and the plants in the garden!! Other kids and adults came over for a pat and play and it was a relief when it got dark and we could move inside. We bought Tally a lovely bed with blankets and a lambs wool underlay and instead she chose to sleep on the Lego box!! She fell asleep as soon as she came inside and only woke up for a short play and a wee. Nick and I went to bed absolutely exhausted!!
