Woke up around 7am and read in bed for a while listening to the birds carry on outside. We had a very slow start to the day as Nick walked to the little shop and grabbed some bread as well as the weekend papers. He sat and read while I made everyone breakfast and then we both read for a while with a second cup of coffee! Eventually we got moving and caught the train to Milson's Point. From there we walked over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and down through the Rocks to Circular Quay. The Rocks was in full flow with the markets on and buskers performing everywhere. Nick and I could have easily spent the day there watching the world go by but not quite so attractive with all the kids in tow! At Circular Quay we caught the ferry to Darling Harbour and sat outside watching the scenery go by. It probably would have been quicker to walk but any excuse to ride on the water!! By the time we got there the kids were grumbling that they were hungry so we bought them an ice cream and then explored the harbour, which was a mass of souvenir shops and restaurants. We got as far as the children's playground but didn't stay there too long as the place was packed and it all seemed a little bit grotty!! We bought lunch from the food court and sat by the water eating it before walking back to the wharf. The plan was to get the ferry across to McMahons Point and then change to another ferry going to Parramatta. However, once we got there we were too late to catch the Parramatta ferry and ended up back in Darling Harbour! After what seemed an eon of being on the water riding around in circles we eventually got to Milson's Point and decided to get the train home. Although it was only 4pm we showered the kids when we got home and put them in their pj's as they were filthy and it was the only way they go play on their beds. I then spent the evening doing the laundry and Nick made dinner. The kids went to bed early and we spent the evening reading needing some peace and quiet. After two full days of exploring Sydney no one seemed to have the energy for it today, especially as everywhere seemed more crowded.
