Woken far too early this morning by the kids and it was a struggle to get up. It was another beautiful day and the morning was spent in the usual way - coffee, breakfast and school. We had lunch and then went off in the car to explore again, taking Doris and Joerg too. Our first stop was Central Tilba, a stunning little town in the hills that is listed with the National Trust. There is only one main street and it is lined with old weatherboard shops and cafes with beautiful gardens. We walked up and down and found a lolly shop, a cheese factory and a shop selling lovely jams and pickles. Behind the old pub was a walk up to a rocky peak with great views over the town. We were tempted to stop for a Devonshire Tea but instead drove on to Narooma, a very pretty coastal town. Doris and Joerg had stayed here with friends while we were in Eden and they became our tour guides for the afternoon. We drove out to Wagonga Head and look for sea lions and found 5 great big ones sleeping on the rocks. You could smell them way before you could see them - so stinky!! Next we drove around to Mill Bay and walked along the boardwalk. The water was very clear and we saw all sorts of different fish as well as three different types of Rays, a sea lion and a turtle! We spent a long time over the walk and it was nearly dark by the time we got back to the car. We had a small drive around the town and then bought fish and chips for dinner and sat on the banks of the inlet eating it all. It was delicious. By the time we finished it was pitch black and feeling very late, although it was only 6 O'clock!! We called in to Woolworths before heading home and bought dinner for the next 3 days and got back just before 7pm. It was a really warm night with plenty of mosquitoes around so we decided to sit outside and lit a fire to keep them away. Unfortunately the smoke was unbearable and only Nick and Joerg stayed outside to enjoy it. A thunderstorm hit around 9pm and there was a short sharp heavy storm - quite nice to fall asleep to!
