It was another very warm morning making it much easier to get up early with Tally. The kids have got into the habit of getting up with me so that we can have hot chocolate and play Gubs before breakfast. Once we had all eaten we began a very slow pack up, filled up all our water containers and then hit the road. The dog complained for the first half an hour, climbed all over everyone's laps and finally settled on the seat between Katharine and Anna! We stopped in Scone as we found a park with a playground for the kids and made lunch from the caravan. We even fired up the generator for a coffee with fruitcake!! We had one more stop in Aberdeen for the toilet and eventually made it to Putty around 4 o'clock. Putty is sandwiched between Yengo National Park and Wollemi National Park and there is nothing there except an awesome café that allows people to camp free overnight. We got the van organised and then went up to the café for an ice-cream and were also tempted by the hot chips and carrot cake - great combination!! The dog was a hit with everyone and even the staff at the café came out for a cuddle! It was a really warm evening and the clocks had gone forward an hour so it stayed nice and light. We sat outside and read and then had a late dinner before heading straight to bed. There were only 4 other vans staying over night and it was very quiet and easy to sleep.
