Nick had a fairly restless night as he was woken by rain and the odd shout from the 21st but I slept through the lot and was woken by Jonny at ten to eight! By the time I had got the generator out and set up the chairs it was lat enough to make coffee without offending the neighbours. The sun was out and it was a magic morning so we walked the beach before breakfast. We spent a few hours hitting the schoolbooks and poor Annie ended up in tears because she'd forgotten how to do most of her lower case letters - we now know what to concentrate on for the rest of the week!! We had an early lunch and then set off in the car to explore the rest of the local coast. We drove through Broulee and Mossy Point, which had some beautiful beaches and expensive houses, before exploring Batemans Bay, the main holiday destination for people from the ACT. Here, the beach wasn't nearly as nice and the town seemed a little charmless so we carried on driving into Shoalhaven and stopped at Depot Beach near Durras North in the Murramarang National Park. Here we took a walk through the rainforest to the beach and found kangaroos grazing on the grass. The beach was beautiful and the surf was pretty awesome. We drove home with a view to stop at Mogo but just as we reached the town Matty and Jonny lost the plot so we kept on going - a real shame as it looked a beautiful spot with some great shops. Back at the camp we had a coffee and researched the next place to stop while the kids lit a fire and roasted some marshmallows. Nick made dinner once it got dark and then everyone watched a bit of TV after showers. An early bed needed by all!
