It rained on and off throughout the night and it was still raining when the kids woke up so there was no hurry to get out of bed. We eventually surfaced around nine, had a quick breakfast and spent an hour covering the basics in schoolwork before heading off in the car to explore Tamworth. The drive took about an hour and a quarter and was very scenic - lots of green rolling hills and paddocks full of cattle. Once we got to Tamworth it started to absolutely pour so we managed to glimpse The Golden Guitar but didn't stop and take photos. After a drive around the city we found a shopping centre and got everyone's haircut then sat and had a coffee and a muffin. We finished off with a huge shop at Woollies and then got the kids KFC for dinner before heading home. It was after six by the time we got home and everything under the awning was dripping wet. The kids got straight into pj's and played on their beds, while Nick and I had dinner. A bit of TV before bed and hot water bottles for everyone!!
