We have just a few days left in Perth. There was torrential rain last night and today has been cool (20C) and cloudy. Apparently it has been the wettest March in Perth for 40 years! Today was a nostalgia trip for Mick. We left at 8:00 and drove to Dongara for breakfast. Had a quick look at the marina at Port Denison then turned east. Through Mingenew, Morawa, Latham, Maya, Buntine and then Wubin. This is where Mick's Dad built the roadhouse in 1963 and they left there to go to another roadhouse in Busselton in 1966. This morning we set off on our return journey. After a half hour delay because we couldn't shut the boot of the car, we left Denham and drove to Eagle Bluff. The boardwalk offers a marvellous view over the shallow waters. We saw a shark and three manta rays. Shark Bay is one of only a handful of special regions in the world to meet all criteria for World Heritage listing. Some of the marine life include the humpback and southern right whales, dugong, mantra rays, turtles and dolphins. Monkey Mia is in Shark Bay. From there we continued along the main road but turned off at Northampton for Kalbarri where there is a national park.
