Today we drove south to Rockingham and took a 5 minute ferry ride over to Penguin Island. I know the photo is a sea lion and not a penguin but it is not the right weather to see penguins in the wild. But we saw a lot of birds mainly terns and Pelicans swimming in the water and flying around.
It is only a very small island and we walked round it along the boardwalks. Stunning views again!
At 2:30 we went to The Discovery Centre to watch the rescued penguins being fed. Like my chickens the Penguins all had names so I am not that daft after all!! The Penguins on the island are Little penguins which are the smallest breed only about 30cms fully grown. They are very noisy despite their size.
From the island we could see a bushfire on the mainland that had started and was getting bigger during the day. On the news going home it was announced that the fire was out of control and homes were in danger but it wasn't near where we are staying. The helicopters were flying about monitoring things.

Jenny We have never considered you daft!!! What a lovely day. Wildlife and scenery all woven together again. Can't help with bird identification as not in our British Bird book. Bush fires must be frightening.
Carol daffodils are out June soon be changing the clocks. Your time clock will be out of "sink" when you return but what the heck such lovely days you are having. I am now A* at arithmetic.
