This has been the day for visiting some fantastic beaches (see the album of photos). It is still the school holidays here but there was virtually noone on the beaches at all - just a few families!
We drove west from Busselton to Dunsborough - a beautiful white sand beach.
Then to Meelup Beach - a small sand white sand beach.
Then to Eagle Bay - a large white sand beach.
Then to Bunker Bay - a large white sand beach.
At each beach the water was crystal clear and very greeny blue.
We then drove to Cape Naturaliste and saw Sugar Loaf Rock, an outcrop in the sea. Very bracing here but we saw many dolphins in the bay just breaking the surface now and again.
We then drove south to Yallingup, again a sandy beach but this beach is renowned for excellent surfing waves when the conditions are right.
Feeling rather windswept and thirsty we then drove to the Cheeky Monkey Brewery where we sampled some beers and ciders and had a bite to eat.
When we come back to Busselton in March we hope to revisit some of these beaches for a swim. Just to put your minds at ease there are shark patrols on the beaches. A shark was spotted at Meelup only 2 weeks ago!!
