Didier Moutia's Travels
Well if you are a Harry Potter fan or are really into Marvel Superheroes then this park is for you.
We started the day in Harry Potter World. This is a great place to start as this part of the park gets busy fast. We all agree it is a ************* as to whether the ride here is better than the new Harry Potter ride at the Universal Studios Park. We think the new ride beats the older one by just a small margin. Either way we rode both of these rides twice.
There is a tonne to do in Harry Potter but we have done it before so headed towards Jurassic Park. It pays to wear a poncho for this ride. We went twice and both times got soaked. Next stop Toon Lagoon. This area is amazing, lots of work has gone into designing this part of the park, it is highly graphical and you can see the hard work the design team did especially in the small details.
In Toon Lagoon we headed for the Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. We did this twice and got soaked each time. The last drop is a great rush. It was also entertaining to see people without ponchos get seriously wet. Evil I know!
My boys are big Marvel Comic fans. The Marvel Super Hero Island was nirvana for our team. There are lots of stores, heaps of comics and the ability to meet your favourite heroes. The boys met two of their favourites being Captain America and Spiderman. Of course we just had to do the Spiderman 3D ride ... AWESOME. The Hulk ride is also located here, it is an awesome roller coaster. This is an unusual roller coaster in that it is a launch lift hill type … meaning … The coaster starts uphill and then accelerates to 64km/hr in 2 seconds before travelling through 7 inversions. We also did the Doctor Doom’s Fearfall but were disappointed; the ride up was more thrilling than the drop. The boys also enjoyed Storm Force Accelatron. The Accelatron is a bit more placid than some other rides but my boys still had a great time.
In the Lost Continent section we did Poseidon’s Fury. A great ride, very different and I won’t spoil it for those thinking of doing it. Well worth the effort. The boys absolute favourite thing at this park was the Mystic Fountain. If you have kids you must check this out. This Fountain basically talks to the children and squirts them with water. The boys could have stayed at the fountain for hours if we let them.
Seuss Landing has little in terms of attractions for my family but it is worth visiting alone for the design. The area is so well put together, it is colourful and the very visually appealing. I could not help but take lots of shots in this part of the park.
Islands of Adventure is one of our favourite parks. The kids had a ball. Definitely a park to do on a sunny day, especially for the water based rides which are excellent!
