Didier Moutia's Travels
Well today we had some great weather when visiting one of my favourite parks.
First up was the "ROCKIT" rollercoaster. This is one of my favourites. The coaster allows you to pick your music for the ride. The ride is fast and has a nice initial drop followed by a 360 loop and some 0 g corners. A must do at Universal.
Next stop ... the Despicable Me ride. Definitely another favourite with all of us. A great 3D ride. Then it was over to Twister ... a so so ride, more of an experience type attraction.
The boys dragged us to the Transformers ride. This is a new ride from our previous visit. Very well done, we loved it. Again it is a 3D ride and very immersive and of course we had to do it a couple of times.
The Revenge of the Mummy is one of my favourite rides. I remember it well from the last trip as it was nothing like what I expected. It starts off reasonably tame but soon you find yourself on a quite fast roller coaster. It is incredible and some even say it is worth going to Universal just to ride this attraction. We rode the "Revenge of the Mummy" three times and still the boys wanted to go again!
Keen on being in a movie? The Disasters ride may be worth your time. My youngest Philippe featured in the ride. The link to the video is below. It is very cleverly done, the ride through audience participation shows you how movies in general are put together. Some of the audience like Philippe become impromptu actors. The kids had a ball!

Last time we came to this park the Harry Potter "Diagon Alley" did not exist. This new area of the park is very impressive. The ride is also awesome and in my opinion better than the ride at the Universal Islands of Adventure Harry Potter section. We did this ride two times and I suspect in busy times you will be lucky to get on it once based on its popularity. I think it is great that both Harry Potter sections in both Universal Parks are linked through the Kings Cross Station.
Next ... Men in Black. The kids love these shooting rides where you compete with other people and teams.
Lastly the Simpsons is also very popular. My oldest boy remembers this ride from our last trip and loves it. Needless to say we did this ride several times. It is a 3D ride and very well done. The whole Simpsons area has been redeveloped and done well.
We had a great day at the park. We remember a lot of the older rides and were pleasantly surprised by the new additions.
