We stopped for lunch in Palm Cove. This was quite a lovely spot with a long strip of beach and a line of palm trees along it. Of course there was only one area netted for safe swimming but I'm sure the many resorts that lined the Esplanade would all have pools in them.

I'd always wanted to have a holiday in Port Douglas - never thought it would be staying in a caravan park - but it was still a lovely place. Will definitely go back there when we have an income again. There are so many places to eat and drink - that is the best way to enjoy Port Douglas.

We stayed a couple of nights enjoying walks around town and swims at Four Mile Beach. We stocked up on some books at the Sunday market before heading to Mossman Gorge.
