After packing up at Maroochydore we headed up the Sunshine Coast with a lunch stop in Coolum before setting up camp at a caravan park in Tewantin.

From here we explored Booreen Point and stopped for a drink at the old Apollonian Hotel. The next day David went off on his motorbike heading inland to Rainbow Beach before returning along the Coloured Sands beach. David missed judged the tide times and just managed to get home. Apparently the beach disappeared completely under sea water a couple of times and he had to ride through the rising tide and over rocks. We would take this reverse beach route to get to Rainbow Beach with the camper the next day.
