We left Hervey Bay and headed north to Childers. We stopped here for a walk around the town and some lunch. We stumbled across the memorial for the backpackers who had died in the backpacker fire here some years ago. It was quite moving.

From Childers we headed east to Woodgate on the coast. We set up in the Woodgate Caravan Park before heading to the pub to watch North versus Melbourne. We were watching more for my cousin Kate who was going to be on the ground as a trainer for the Roos. She normally has to stay in the rooms. We did get to see her briefly just before the start of the third quarter and at three quarter time.

David went for a ride on his motorbike through the Burrum Coast National Park and later we took the car through the park and back along the beach.
