From Bang Bang we got up early and moved onto the Burke and Wills Roadhouse. We decided to treat ourselves to breakfast and boy am I glad we did. We both had a bacon and egg burger - it was delicious. It came with beetroot, lettuce, tomato, onion and HP sauce - yum yum. So the next time you are passing through the Burke and Wills Roadhouse, do yourself a favour and drop in for a bite to eat (and fuel as you'll most likely need that too).

We had a toilet stop at Gregory Downs where we met a lady whose aunt had lived at 1 Grosvenor Street, Brighton - our neighbour (obviously not the big modern house that is there now) - and whom she had visited regularly.

We spent four nights at Lawn Hill National Park. This spot had been highly recommended to us by just about everyone we met and with good reason. The campground had good facilities and the river flowed through and you were able to swim in it.

Our first day here we hired a canoe for a couple of hours and went as far as we could - thanks to David that included into some spiky reeds! The next couple of mornings we went on walks. The first took us along the top of the gorges that we had canoed the day before. We also stopped and swam at the falls. The second walk we took was above the gorges we weren't able to access in the canoe and the views were amazing. Unfortunately we can't show you any photos as it was a sacred

Aboriginal site and they request no photos are taken. We just sat and looked at the views for a quarter of an hour.

Included in our stay at Lawn Hill was a night out at Adel's Grove which is a camping resort about 10kms away. We went there for dinner and to watch the second leg of the NRL State of Origin.

Lawn Hill would be one of our three favourite places thus far.
