We arrived in Townsville the day Melbourne Storm were playing the North Queensland Cowboys in Townsville. Being the huge rugby league fans we are we decided to go along to the game. We had our walkmans in our ears for the game so we knew what was going on. Storm won 12 - 10. David enjoyed the game because of the cheerleaders!

We've done a bit a sight seeing here. A drive up Castle Hill for a scenic view of Townsville, walks along the Strand, lazying by the rock pool on the Strand, a walk through the town centre and pizza for dinner by the Strand. I guess without the Strand, Townsville might not be as enjoyable. Magnetic Island sits off the coast of Townsville so I guess that's another draw card. We are saving our cruising for a trip to the reef from Cairns.

We mainly extended our stay here to get in the second leg of the champions league on Thursday morning. Go Liverpool!

The weather has been pretty good up here. Hot but not too uncomfortable. The evenings cool down enough to make sleeping in the camper fine.
