Day 21- August 31- Fort Bragg
Rest Day!!
What a nice rest day. Early breakfast courtesy of motel. Then short walk to Old Town. Visited some art shops, glass place, Safeway for provisions. Annual gem and glass show, got new time on
Phone card. Picked up bikes from
"Fort Bragg Cyclery", reasonable and great service. The tourist info center even phoned to next stop and I was able to reserve a H/B site - being
The Labor Day weekend, very busy everywhere. Next lunch and a hike to the coast to see the famous, Glass Beach! The site of the old town's garbage- over the hundred years or so the ocean has worn all the
Broken glass smooth and many colors and sizes, very unusual. Wonderful, especially with the pounding surf in the background. Still foggy at 5:30. We are in Mendocino County, this is where "Cabot Cove" of Murder, She Wrote, was filmed- not Maine. Dinner soon, pack, and ready for another day. All is well.
