Day 20- 50miles- August 30
Redwoods Resort, Leggett to Fort Bragg.
Tiring day, must learn to stop more often. Up early- right onto highway, not many services. 4 miles up the road came to the only place open, Peg House, good breakfast burrito and coffee. Took Shoreline route #1 over two mountains and down to fog and coast. Crazy road (pic) no shoulders but heard the surf and saw bits of the coast through fog. After some more climbs came to 10 mile bridge and after that road undulated - very windy- head winds. Finally into Fort Bragg, right on coast. Found a motel then went exploring. Took bikes to local bike shop, they need a cleanup and my brakes need to be checked. With trailer have to slow down on descents. Rest day tomorrow. Will check out "glass beach",
And hope to spot whales, they have been seen daily. "Paul Bunyan Days", also logging show this Labor Day weekend, lots of logging in this area. Neat shops and artist stores plus Glass and gem show to see tomorrow.

Johnny 20 days in..... the newest california girls are almost 1/2 way there ! then again if you are haivng a burritto for breakfast you might closer than you think ! you are doing amazing Mary, I was telling some people at work how 2 years ago you rode across canada in 72 days and now you are riding to mexico and that you are in your 60's, they asked if you were nuts, I just said nope thats our Mary ! Enjoy the rest break, I think you said maybe one more mountain to climb and then you get to come down the mountian........ the best part only bike riders know how good that feels !!!! Pedal power................... ooooooooh, this is the toughest question yet, god dam I like this calculator, the answer was ...........2
