Left Chilliwack at 10 a.m. out onto Sumas Prairie and those famous head-and cross winds. With trailer and 2 pannies, it seemed okay pulling but slower. Stopped at Abbotsford for a snack and pictures. Then onto Highway 11 and over Mission Bridge onto Lougheed Highway. Great shoulders after Mission and found the extra weight does make a hugh difference going up hills. Took back route off Haney by-pass to Marine drive then back to Lougheed, had trouble with chain, ...

Had a interesting ride, started early from home to Chilliwack East, Highway #1. Great shoulder and not to much traffic just in some spots a head wind, had to bike harder. At "Hope" stopped at a nice coffee shop. (see pic) Then onto highway heading north up Fraser Canyon to historic "Yale". At this point my bike computer showed 50 miles, so had a break, turned back and stopped at "Lake of the Woods", a pretty stop. From there it was another great highway along oth...

It's not the miles, point A to B, instead it is chapter in my life. The sights, the smells, the people and the personal challenge of this bike journey. My good friend and bike buddy Fran and I will begin at the Sumas Border in Abbotsford riding daily through Washington, Oregon, and California to the Mexican Border along the wild pacific Coast.
