Day 36- September 15- 38 miles
Happy Birthday Johnny- Hope your holiday was fun, just like you and Gayle! Redondo Beach to NewPort Beach
Good sleep-no fog again this morning just warm weather. Little traffic at start of ride-nice ride through Torrance, Carson onto a bike path along the Los Angeles River which took us to Long Beach. Wow, what a neat place! Went all around Shoreline Village and Marina. Very picturesque! There were these Islands out in the water with palm trees- guess what- oil rigs!!!
The Shoreline Village Beach Trail was nice and took us to PCHwy 1. After Seal Beach left Los Angeles County to Orange County. Continued on more beach paths, miles of pristine white sand, full of people, Sunset Beach, Huntington Beach (where surfing in the USA started) then into Newport Beach. At a nice Motel, two blocks from the beach. Had a super lunch and into room and relax. Love the weather! Off for walk and see the ocean! It is so amazing, watching those waves and people - I love it. Even the children are boogie boarding, how good is that.
News just said Long Beach was 103 today but biking was okay especially if you keep moving.
