Panama Canal, George And Mary's Dream Journey
Day 17- August 27 - 63 miles
Klamath to KOA Eureka
Woke to Rain, put away wet tent and gear and hit the road. Full rain gear! Stopped for breakfast at only diner at Klamath. Then onto climb and a side route to avenue of Giants, suggested by bike guide- got us off 101. Pictures can't capture the size and beauty of these ancient trees. More climbs into Trinidad. Here we had a late lunch and much needed rest. From there we travelled the Hammon trail, along beautiful coast, but crappy road. Continued on trail to Arcata then onto 101 and the KOA. Hard day, cold and wet a.m. But sunny afternoon. Sitting in KOA games room charging phone and i pad while waiting for pizza.
