Day 19 - Wednesday 29- 35miles- sun/wind
Left camp, stopped at Myers Flat for coffee, etc., such strange rude people, had quick coffee - left!! Still in Redwood Forest, really nice ride on Avenue of Giants for 10 miles then onto 101, nice shoulders mostly, then the climbing began!!! At Garberville stopped for breakfast. More climbs.....finally stopped early at Redwood Resort 6 miles out of Leggett for rest. Dirt site, but laundry and paid wifi - Fran bought for
Herself, can't share. Small store for dinner stuff. Very unfriendly people yesterday and today. One State Park we passed was already closed and kids around here back in school. Right now by pool writing my journal. Laundry on, camp set up. Needed break! Tomorrow Fort Bragg and rest day- just have 2 more mountains to climb! Then back to coast. The Redwoods are so amazing. It would be nice to come again and hike to see these giants. I love the colours, the coolness and the majesty of these forests, they are mistical.

Marilyn Hi Mary, So sorry to hear you met up with some less than great folks. Steve said tonight you were in the midst of N. Calif. marijuana growing area & those folks don't care for outsiders! Once back on 101 you should be ok. Dumb people are just that, never let them take away the incredible beauty you are traveling through. The Mendicino coast is incredible...Fort Bragg and the Pacific coming up. Breath it all in on your amazing journey.
