Day 33- September 12- 60 Miles
Lompoc to Santa Barbara
Left Lomboc in overcast skies and coast al fog. Climbed out of valley then had a fast ride down to coast from #1 to freeway 101, thankfully good shoulders. No services till Goleta at 45 miles. Stopped for lunch and then biked to
University of California and onto a bike path to take us through Goleta and Santa Barbara. A pathway, side streets and down to the ocean in Santa Barbara where we found a motel, no camping here. Walked the beach, so nice walking in the ocean and sand along the boardwalk to the Stearns Wharf. Nice to be a tourist and see the sites! Back to motel, pizza and some rest and prepare for tomorrow's ride. Warm and blue sky with wind. Nice day.
Saw first lemon grove and several oil rigs off shore!
