We had a bit of an early start today. We were up at 5, think the kids are still in Qld time zone. Packed up camp and got back on the road. About 100 meters further along the road there was an awesome big open camping area which actually had a proper track in. Trust us to pull up 200 mtrs short :) we had a laugh and drove on. Pulled up at Gary junction. Just 2 old heavy 44 gallon drums to represent it with a sign in book. Signed the book and we're on the road again.
Got to Kanawarrji and hopefully that will be our dearest fuel at $3.40! The Brady's had done both their shockies on the van so we had to hang in town for a bit. The store owner let Shaun use his welder so he did some repairs.
There was a couple 4WD of cops heading the way we just come from. Sean started his usual have a chat and even got the big tough looking policeman to sing him the ABC song ha ha. I was impressed!
The positive out of a bad situation was much happier to spend 4 hours there than in Kiwirrkurra where we were yesterday! Much better surroundings and we even had a nice big shady tree and some lawn for the kids to play on. So cute seeing the little aborigine kids running around with nothing on, they were having a ball playing under a sprinkler and in the dirt.
After talking to the locals they recommended that we don't go and do the canning stock route and head north instead to Marble Bar.
We drove for an hour or so and then found another radio tower to camp up at. The kids were on firewood duty again and are loving the task!
We had yummy toasted jaffles done on the fire for tea.
