Yay time to look around Karijini. After much thought we decided to delay our trip to Coral Bay by a day as we realized we needed an extra day here to see and do everything.
We took off for Weano gorge which was the furtherest one from where we are camping. Gaz had Zane in the back pack, kylie had Archie on the front, Shaun and I had backpacks and the cameras and our boys had water camel backpacks on. So loaded up off we set for Weano gorge, took the wrong track to start oopsy. Ben fell over got covered in dirt and grazed his hand but you would have thought he had cut it off.
After that we went down a heap of steps into the beautiful gorge. Got some great pics and then took off for a big walk through the gorge. The scenery is just beautiful. The deep brown rocks with the greenery and water is stunning. Poor Sean wasn't feeling well he had a bit of an upset tummy didn't even want a suck lollie so I knew he was crook. I piggie backed him for a bit until we had to cross the creeks and head up hill. He did really well, all the kids were great and did the long walk well.
We had some lunch after the walk, wraps are our lunch theme as they're easy and yummy whilst on the go. Thankfully the Brady's car has the tray at the back to pull down and that has become our table :)
Then we drove to a few look outs. at Oxer gorge a poor fella Jimmy Reagan had his cross at this gorge as he had died there whilst trying to do a cliff rescue when a flash flood had occurred.
Then it was off to Joffre gorge where Kylie and I just did a quick run down to the look out. Absolutely beautiful, 2 lucky people where swimming down below. Would have been a great walk down and into there.
Next was Knox gorge, kylie and I took the kids for a quick walk to this one. You hang out over the cliff on a platform, very high up :)
Then we went and did Kalamina gorge. It was getting later in the day so we did the shorter walk to the water falls. Great walk, kids did lots of climbing through this one.
We thought we might stop at the visitor centre for showers on the way back home. Of course they shut at 3.45pm, we got there at 4. Looks like shower in a bucket again :)
Sean was very lack luster when we got back to camp he said he had no energy left. Ben and Caleb sat and did their activity books for them to become junior national park rangers.
Snags in bread for the kids and Thai green chicken burgers again for us. The guys have been enjoying a few beers and gaz's infamous port. Shaun says its like oil :)
Now I'm off to bed to catch some zzz's, hopefully the boys sleep in, in the morning.
