Ben was very excited to find $2.50 from the tooth fairy this morning.
We headed off to Newman to stock up for our trip to Coral Bay and to catch up with some good friends of ours Blakey and Dion. We both worked with them years ago even before Gaz and I got together.
We got into town called into the caravan park and put some washing on. Then we were stoked to find the supermarket, hardware and grog shop all in one spot...super score as we were time poor!
As I was walking into the shopping centre an aboriginal girl did the biggest spit right on the entry way to the shops, bloody disgusting! They were out in force in Newman and the place just seemed filthy.
Ran around the supermarket trying to figure out what I needed for 2 weeks at Coral bay with only our engel fridge since the van one still isn't working.
Did alright a quick shop and $500 later that's the groceries only not including the grog.
Gaz got the beers and thankfully the Lynch's are bringing me 12 bottles of wine up from Perth :)
We met up with Dion and Blakey at the Red Sands hotel for lunch. Even had a surprise visitor Simon (goodfa) called in to say hi. Think it would be about 15 years since we've seen him. Was great to catch up just a shame it wasn't for longer and over a couple of ales.
We said our goodbyes then went and grabbed our washing which thankfully kylie had chucked in the dryer for us.
Then it was up to the dump truck to get a few pics then hit the highway up to Karijini NP.
It was a busy highway probably more so than the Peak Downs Hwy back home. We got in late to Karijini at about 6. We picked Cockatoo loop at Dayles camping ground as generators are ok.
I had to try and find somewhere to put all of the groceries so that we could make our way into the camper. Gaz cooked up hamburgers for the kids and then once we had all the kids sorted and in bed we had our Thai green curry chicken burgers. Thanks Kimberly for the recipe they went down a treat!
